FirstPort’s Chief Executive, Nigel Howell has been recognised as one of the top 100 most influential people in the residential leasehold property sector by a leading property magazine.
News on the Block has a readership of over 10,000 and has named Nigel in the top 100 in recognition of the impact he has made since joining FirstPort in January 2013.
Under his leadership, the organisation has made huge strides in improving customers’ experience and embracing technology to ensure interactions with customers and suppliers are more consistent and efficient. Nigel is extremely passionate about internal communications and keeping all FirstPort employees informed about what is happening across the business.
Speaking about the recognition, Nigel said: “I’m delighted to have been recognised in the top 100. However, behind every influential person is a strong team. I’m lucky enough to work with some great people across the organisation, with a common goal of providing the best service we can to our customers.”
The breadth of roles recognised in this feature include organisational leaders, Parliamentarians, managing agents, building owners, investors, developers and lawyers.
Prior to joining FirstPort, Nigel worked for six years at Morrison PLC where he drove the business through a period of significant transformation including the sale of Morrison Facilities Services to a trade buyer in 2012.
Nigel spent his early career in a series of senior finance, strategy, and business development roles for Hawker Siddeley, Shell, Cable & Wireless, and Centrica/British Gas both in the UK and overseas. Nigel is a qualified accountant (FCMA), a Chartered Director (CDir) and an Associate of the Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM).
