The UK’s largest residential property manager, FirstPort hosted an official opening of its new Glasgow office on Monday 8 May at Troon House, St Vincent Street.
The move sees FirstPort Property Services Scotland employees create a new centralised hub for the business in the heart of Glasgow. The staff there will work as part of FirstPort’s customer service team, supporting customers who live in the 11,000 homes it manages in Scotland, across over 200 developments.
Local residents from FirstPort developments joined staff and clients to enjoy the celebrations. Residents attended from Homemount House in Ayrshire, Homeglen House in Giffnock and Muirfield Court in Muirend. One of FirstPort Scotland’s longest residing residents - 89 year old Laura Kitson who has lived at Homemount House since it opened in 1984 – was the guest of honour.
Laura commented: “I have lived at Homemount House for over 30 years. I made the move mainly for the security and peace of mind, but also for the friendship of living with other people of the same age. The new Glasgow office is bright, airy and welcoming and I very much enjoyed the chance to be part of its official opening. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet the team who, alongside our Development Managers, support the smooth running of our development.”
Nigel Howell, FirstPort Chief Executive commented: “It was great to see some of the residents who we support on a daily basis come along to support us as we open our new office. At FirstPort, we are continuously striving to deliver industry-leading customer service and to grow our business in Scotland, and we are delighted to open our new office in Glasgow which will support these efforts.”
