FirstPort retirement development awarded 2nd place in local gardening competition

A FirstPort retirement development has secured second place in this year’s Runnymede in Bloom gardening competition.

Onslow Mews – an independent-living retirement development in Surrey – was awarded second place in the Best Communal Garden category.

Runnymede in Bloom is an annual competition set up by Runnymede Borough Council to celebrate impressive communal and residential gardens across the area.

Caroline Turner, the FirstPort Development Manager at Onslow Mews, explained:

The Runnymede in Bloom competition is a brilliant community event to take part in and we are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded second place.

“The gardens at Onslow Mews are a place for residents to relax and enjoy the outdoors and our gardeners and green-fingered residents work hard to keep them looking beautiful.”

The Mayor of Runnymede Borough Council visited the gardens in July as part of the judging process.

A selection of residents will be attending an awards ceremony at the local garden centre later this month.
