Tell us about your role and how long you’ve worked for FirstPort
I started with FirstPort in March 2020 as a Property Manager. My portfolio consists of 18 sites and I manage an on-site team, which is made up of three concierge staff.
What do you do in the first hour after you wake up?
I have breakfast, then I login to MySight – this is a management information system we have at FirstPort which gives me easy access to data around my properties and my areas of responsibility. I will go through my four pillars first before I log into my emails.
For reference: Our four pillars are Strong Health and Safety, High Site Standards, Great Customer Communications and Healthy Estate Finances.
What do you like most about your job?
Customer service and keeping clients happy by being effective in my job.
What challenges do you face?
When we are carrying out contractual works delays can occur, and this can affect project completion dates. This can be frustrating for all invlolved. As a Property Manager it’s my job to keep a close eye on work progress and update residents throughout the project if things change.
What led you to take this opportunity?
I have worked in property management for several years now and wanted to change and work for FirstPort, it being the largest management company in the UK and with the scope to develop further.
What is your greatest achievement?
Ensuring health and safety standards at my developments remain high
Who is your inspiration?
My Regional Manager, always available to help and provide advice as and when needed.
What keeps you busy outside of work?
I have two young boys, 1 and 3, and they keep me very busy outside of work.
What personal goal have you set yourself this year?
To complete my IRPM and achieve high scores on my 4 pillars.
What is one thing that people may not know about you?
I have worked in the property sector for 14 years now.
