We know that many homeowners are concerned about the potential impact of rising energy costs. Recent global events, including the conflict in the Middle East, are expected to increase energy bills across the UK.

What this means for FirstPort customers

We expect these changes may affect energy costs, especially for customers living in buildings with heat networks or shared energy supplies.

How we are responding

While we cannot control energy prices, we are committed to helping ensure customers receive fair and competitive rates for any energy we procure.

We are working closely with our specialist energy partner, Energycentric, to manage these expected increases as effectively as possible and to secure the best available terms for the developments we manage.

How we procure energy

Energycentric negotiates bulk energy contracts on behalf of the developments we manage. By purchasing energy at scale, we are often able to secure more competitive rates and terms than would typically be available to individual developments.

They also negotiate contract terms designed to prevent unexpected mid-contract price increases. This means that once a rate is agreed, it remains fixed for the duration of the contract, helping to protect customers from sudden price changes during the year.

We understand that increases in household costs can be concerning, and we want to reassure customers that we are taking a proactive and considered approach. We will continue to keep all customers informed as further information becomes available.
