We are delighted to share that The FirstPort Group has raised over £50,000 in support of Tommy Club, marking a significant fundraising milestone since the charity partnership began in 2024.
The fundraising total has been achieved through the collective efforts of colleagues across the business, with the funds set to support Tommy Club to provide homes, create jobs, and build communities for veterans.
Recent fundraising at FirstPort for Tommy Club has included sky dives, sleep outs and development parties. The latest contribution towards reaching the £50k milestone came from Development Manager Nicci Muriel, whose fundraising efforts helped take the total beyond the £50,000 mark.
In April, Nicci raised over £900 by taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, providing the final boost needed to reach the target.
Martin King, Managing Director at FirstPort, said:
“We are incredibly proud to have reached the £50,000 fundraising milestone in support of Tommy Club. This achievement reflects the collective commitment of our colleagues and residents across FirstPort communities who have shown a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and generosity in supporting the vital work that Tommy Club does.”
Paula Ray, Director of Fundraising at the charity, added:
“We’re so grateful to everyone who has helped FirstPort’s fundraising to reach this brilliant milestone. To all those who have taken part in events, slept out on a very cold night, or baked for a Tommy Tea – thank you! You are making a huge impact on our work helping veterans of all ages who find themselves without a home or a job to get their lives back on track.”
Tommy Club is a division of the Royal British Veterans Enterprise, which has just launched #StillServing, a new campaign featuring Rankin photos of nine men and women the charity has supported. The nine veterans range from 18 to 100, representing the generations that have served since VE Day in 1945. They are veterans who work in RBVE’s social enterprise, live in its village, or have rebuilt their lives through the Lifeworks programme.
The FirstPort Group will be taking on the Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge for Tommy Club in June. You can learn more or donate here.
