Argyle Court is an independent-living retirement development in Inverness, Scotland.

The development consists of 38 apartments for residents aged 60 and over.

Homeowners appointed FirstPort as the property factor in October 2024, with a focus on enhancing communication, transparency, and overall service quality for residents.

The challenge

Ahead of FirstPort’s appointment, residents highlighted the importance of consistent and transparent communication from their new property factor, especially in relation to financial matters. This meant they could feel fully informed about decisions affecting their homes.

Our approach

From the outset, FirstPort prioritised transparency and resident engagement. Key actions included:

  • Providing clear explanations of finances and service charges, enabling residents to understand how funds are allocated
  • Establishing regular monthly meetings, with minutes shared with all owners to ensure full visibility of decisions and updates
  • Encouraging open communication between residents and the Development Manager

Development Manager Janet Honour said:

Our role has also been focused on introducing a more proactive approach, looking at future requirements and anticipating necessary maintenance and improvements.”
