A FirstPort Development Manager has been recognised as part of the Mayor of West Lancashire’s annual awards for her outstanding contribution to the independent living community.
Last week, Karen Berry – who works at The Fountains development in Lancashire – was presented with an award for her outstanding contribution and dedication to supporting residents who live independently within the community.
The award was presented by the Mayor of West Lancashire, Anne Fennell, during a celebration attended by residents, guests, and community partners. An afternoon tea was held in honour of the celebration featuring a selection of cakes and beverages kindly provided by the Mr Thompson Bakery in Ormskirk.
Residents at The Fountains expressed how Karen consistently goes above and beyond in her role, creating an environment where they constantly feel supported and welcomed.
Eileen Evans, a resident at The Fountains, explained:
“Karen is an absolutely amazing and wonderful Development Manager. She has played a key role in building the community spirit at The Fountains and, living here has been a truly positive experience.”
Speaking at the event, Karen thanked colleagues, residents and guests for attending and supporting her on such special day. Speaking about her role, she explained:
“I believe my job goes beyond simply ensuring the safety of residents and the building. My goal is to foster a positive community environment where residents can live a happy and active lifestyle.”
The event highlighted the positive impact Development Managers like Karen play in enhancing the quality of life for residents.
