Nigel HowellNigel Howell joined FirstPort as Group Chief Financial Officer in January 2013 and was appointed Chief Executive in February 2015, leading a significant performance turnaround at the company. With a clear focus on strategy, customer service, staff engagement, and safety Nigel has restored confidence in delivery for residential customers, business clients, and investors alike, whilst creating a sense of pride amongst the staff.
Immediately prior to FirstPort Nigel spent six years as CFO of Morrison plc, driving the business through a period of significant transformation that included the sale of Morrison Facilities Services to a trade buyer in late 2012.
Nigel spent his early career in senior finance, strategy, and business development roles at Hawker Siddeley, Shell, Cable & Wireless, and Centrica/British Gas, working both in the UK and internationally.
Outside of work Nigel is a Trustee on the board of Trust for London, a charity that tackles poverty and inequality in London by funding voluntary and charity groups, independent research, and providing expertise on London’s social issues.
Nigel is a qualified accountant (FCMA), a Chartered Director (CDir), and a Member of the Institute of Residential Property Management (MIRPM).
Head of Health and Safety
Mark VarleyMark joined FirstPort in May 2014 as Group Head of Health and Safety and also has responsibility for management of the office portfolio. His previous roles include Head of Health and Safety for Metropolitan Housing and Care and Support, UK Health, Safety and Environment Manager for E.ON and Health and Safety Director for Associated Training and Consultancy. Mark is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Safety and Health and a Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management with over 20 years’ experience in health and safety and an Associate of the Institute of Property Managers (IRPM).
Managing Director, FirstPort Bespoke Property Services
Sue PetriSue has considerable residential block management experience, having spent 15 years working in the property management industry. Joining FirstPort in October 2012, Sue leads the team within our FirstPort Bespoke Property Services. Sue plays an active role in ARMA (the Association of Residential Managing Agents) and is a member of their technical committee. In December 2013 she was appointed to the governing body of ARMA and has continued to play a crucial role in the development of ARMA-Q standards recently introduced.
Managing Director, FirstPort Retirement Property Services
Keith ShieldsJoining FirstPort in February 2015, Keith brings with him a wealth of experience as a senior manager in roles across the services industry - from catering to facilities management. Keith’s most recent role, prior to joining FirstPort, was as Head of Facilities & Asset Management for Lend Lease Europe and looked after their UK business.
Chief financial officer
Ouda SalehOuda joined FirstPort in May 2013 having held a number of senior financial roles in a related sector.
With over 10 years of experience in senior and middle manager roles at large organisations including Mears Plc, HMRC and a top 10 audit practice. This experience along with his technical knowledge and strong interpersonal skills provides the financial and commercial leadership needed to FirstPort and its customers.
Ouda is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and am member of the Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM).
MANAGING DIRECTOR, FIRSTPORT PROPERTY SERVICES
Nygel ScourfieldNygel has devoted his career to leading customer facing teams across a range of business disciplines including retail, financial services and property. Initially joining FirstPort in June 2015 in a consultative capacity, Nygel took on the role of Customer Experience Director in January 2016. Since November 2016, Nygel has lead the team within our FirstPort Property Services in the position of Managing Director.
Nygel is a proven leader of customer centric change programs, Board mentoring, team development, coaching, succession planning as well as business restructuring and turnaround.
