Hi, welcome to your latest Issue of Life&Style magazine.
Sadly, summer has departed, and as we greet the delightful sights that autumn bring, we hope this edition will brighten up those colder, darker days ahead.
As we write this, a joint effort between us from our rooms at each of our developments, we wanted to tell you how we got to be in the position of being on the editorial board for this Issue.
We were asked about our interest and availability o attend an editorial meeting. When we accepted the invitation, a short trip to the Luton offices on a blazing hot August morning meant we were in at the deep-end, and helping shape not only this Issue but also the ideas ahead for 2019.
We met at reception and were introduced to the team behind producing the magazine. It was a fantastic opportunity to escape our daily routines and get those creative juices flowing. As we began sharing ideas, it was clear that we wanted to continue to bring an informative, modern layout that was captivating and enjoyable to read. We’ve also introduced a practical element in the way we encourage you to remove any pages of helpful information and store them in easily accessible folders of your choice for quick reference. So keep an eye out for the ‘cut-out and keep’ or ‘keep me’ pages.
After a fascinating couple of hours, we had shaped the stories and articles you will be reading. We’ve included some advice about keeping your personal information and passwords safe, whether over the phone or online. We also breakdown and explain some digital jargon and highlight the benefits of using Your Property Online.
Away from all things digital, there is health and nutritional advice, some mouth-watering recipes, loads of fantastic fundraising activities in ‘Let’s Celebrate’, a ‘Fire safety in your home’ update and the results of the Garden in Bloom competition. Huge congratulations to our two gold winners Milliers Court in West Sussex and Castlefields in Kent, and to our silver and bronze recipients and to everyone who took part.
Your stories never cease to amaze us, from appearing on national TV shows to conquering challenges and achieving your dreams – we are sure the tales we’ve included will fascinate you. We hope they inspire you to send in your own stories and accomplishments.
So, time to get comfortable, have a drink and a cake and enjoy reading your magazine. This is designed with you in mind, with the information provided by residents, for residents. Please do keep your stories, achievements, and recipes coming in for the next Issues ahead.
