The festive season is always a special time across our developments, and this December was no exception. From carol singing to charity fundraisers, our residents and teams came together to celebrate the magic of Christmas in true community spirit.

Festive Celebrations

At Townbridge Court in Northwich, residents gathered to decorate the tree and were treated to carol singing by local primary school children – a tradition that’s been going strong for over 10 years. The celebrations didn’t stop there, with a carol service, Christmas lunch, and a concert adding to the Christmas fun.

Kingfisher Court also welcomed local schoolchildren for a heartwarming carolling session, while Mayfair Court in Cheshire hosted a lively Christmas party complete with a surprise visit from Santa and a local singer who had everyone dancing.

At Millfield Court in Crawley, residents enjoyed their own Christmas party, where the star of the show was 100-year-old Rose, who was up and dancing with fellow residents.

Over at Mumbles Bay Court in Swansea, 45 residents donned their festive jumpers for Christmas Jumper Day. The communal lounge was filled with Christmas music, mince pies, and hot chocolate.

Crafty Christmas

Creativity was in full swing at St Augusta Court in St Albans, where regular craft sessions turned festive. Residents made beautiful Christmas decorations from everyday objects, proving that a little imagination goes a long way.

Giving Back

The season of giving shone brightly across our developments. At Waterside Park in East London, the team partnered with Crisis to collect toiletries for welfare packages for homeless residents at a temporary shelter. Thanks to incredible generosity, over 250 items were donated.

The Development Manager said:

“I’ve been blown away by the generosity of our residents who have also offered to assist with transporting the items. Hopefully, we can help make Christmas brighter for some of those most in need of our help.”

Marton Dale Court in Middlesbrough continued its toy appeal for the fifth-year running, receiving amazing donations from residents, families, and staff. Meanwhile, Homefarris House raised over £400 for The YOU Trust through, which supports vulnerable people across Hampshire, Dorset and Somerset. The money was raised through a Christmas raffle, with the raffle prizes funded by a generous donation from a resident.

At Abbey Court in Hexham, residents held a carol service and raised over £150 for homeless children in Uganda – a cause close to resident Janet’s heart. Janet lived in Uganda for over 20 years, helping to provide housing and education for vulnerable children, making this initiative especially meaningful.

From joyful celebrations to acts of kindness, this Christmas truly highlighted the warmth and generosity of our communities. Thank you to everyone who helped make this festive season so special.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from us all at FirstPort!
