Life & Style – Spring 2020 (Issue 24)

Life & Style Spring 2020

A few months ago we hadn’t even heard the term ‘social distancing’ or ‘self-isolating’ but these are extraordinary times in which we now find ourselves and all of us are being asked to change the way we live. Trying to control the COVID-19 outbreak presents us with many challenges but it is in all of our interests to follow the rules for our own health.

This latest issue of Life & Style is packed full of nutritious recipes and lots of hints and tips toward leading a healthier and longer life. In these testing times staying physically and mentally active is crucial to our wellbeing. We all have different skills and talents and as we get older, we should try to remember what we CAN do rather than focus on the things we can’t.

Why not try to be creative? Have you ever considered writing your life story? I am sure your family would love to read it. Or maybe you have always fancied being a novelist or longed to learn a new language online? Now is the perfect time to turn our hand and our brain to try something new.

It is important that we also stay physically active too so we have now made available a selection of filmed mini workouts on our blog. I have also included in this magazine some simple exercises that can be done on your bed, whether you are recovering from an operation or are fully fit. I hope you will find them easy to follow and helpful in keeping you in shape and mobile.

It’s very timely that we have asked our digital experts at Barclays for their tips for keeping in touch with loved ones. And, we have lots of readers’ stories to share which I am sure you will enjoy and remember, we love to hear your stories so please keep sending them in.

Finally, please look after yourselves as we go through these extraordinary and challenging times.

With all good wishes,

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
ROSEMARY CONLEY CBE DL
