A thriving sense of community continues to grow across FirstPort developments, with residents connecting and coming together in ways that are both memorable and uplifting.

From celebrating big birthdays, Royal Ascot Ladies Day celebrations, and safety sessions from local police, these moments highlight how residents continue to embrace traditions and stay involved within the community.

Royal Ascot Ladies Day

To celebrate Royal Ascot Ladies Day, ladies at Manton Court dressed up in stylish hats and decorated the lounge with the Union Jack flag, as everyone gathered together to watch the Royal Ascot. The day was a lovely opportunity for residents to socialise, dress up and take part in the event from the comfort of their homes.

Charity Walk for Hospice

Five Development Managers from our Later Living team on the south coast completed an 8-mile coastal walk in support of Rowcroft Hospice.

Lorraine Bush, Development Manager at Tembani Court, said:

“This hospice is extremely special to us. We have had family members and residents who have spent their last days there, receiving wonderful care. This walk was our way of giving something back to the organisation. We were overwhelmed by the support from friends and family, who so generously donated to this cause.”

In total, they raised £2,611 for the Rowcroft Hospice. The fundraising efforts will help the hospice continue to provide services to those who need them most.

105th Birthday

Over at Briary Court, resident Bill Smith celebrated a huge milestone – his 105th birthday. He received a letter from the King Charles III wishing him a happy birthday. To mark the occasion, residents threw him a party, and another resident kindly knitted him a birthday cake hat, which added a personal touch to the day and brought smiles all around.

Online Safety

Residents at Russet Court attended an informative session led by the Kent policing team on safety, cold callers and bogus traders. It was an extremely insightful discussion, which provided residents with advice on how to stay safe and avoid scams. Residents were extremely engaged in the session, and the visit highlighted the importance of community awareness and safety online.

A Special Tribute at Bramley Court

Residents at Bramley Court took part in a lovely unveiling ceremony for a couple who lived at the site and donated some money for three trees to be planted. The family of the residents were in attendance which added to the atmosphere of day.
