Service charges explained

As a former SGPM customer, where can I find helpful information about my latest invoice?

Following the integration of SGPM into FirstPort, you may have noticed that your invoice looks different. To make things easier for you, we’ve answered some common questions.

Why is my share/apportionment not showing?

On previous invoices, your share or apportionment was not displayed. However, on future invoices, this will be shown within the description for each charge.

What period does my invoice cover?

You can check the period your invoice relates to by looking at the ‘Management Fee’ charge on your invoice.

Why do some charges show a year instead of a month?

Certain charges, such as grounds maintenance, cleaning or insurance, are planned orders billed annually, so they may display a year period rather than a month. On future invoices, you will start to see the month included for more clarity.

What do figures in brackets mean?

Any amount shown in brackets represents a credit.

What does ‘brought forward balance’ mean?

On your first invoice, this balance included charges from outside the current quarter, which you may have been asked to disregard. Moving forwards, if you see a ‘brought forward balance’ in your invoice, this will reflect an unpaid balance from the previous quarter that needs to be cleared.

Why is there a minus (-) beside my balance?

A minus sign indicates that your balance is in credit.

Why has my management fee increased?

The management fee now includes VAT, rather than showing VAT as a separate charge.

Why is the balance on My Home different from my invoice?

Your My Home account shows a running list of transactions, so payments may appear before you are invoiced. Please always pay the total balance shown on your invoice.
